Super stars!

Here are our certificate winners from last Kauri assembly.  This week (week 4) Room 9 is running the assembly again.  Through 'Keeping Ourselves Safe' we have learnt a lot about being confident.  Let's hope that we can be confident on stage at this weeks assembly too.

Large Ball skills with Erin

It is always fun when Erin comes to school.  This week we learnt how to bounce a ball properly (using our fingers) and how to pass and catch.  We then put our skills to good use and played a game where we had to race against the other team.

More Art fun

Tomorrow at the Art exhibition you will also get to see the bunting that each child in the school made.  We can't wait to see what it looks like all together with everyone else's.

Art Exhibition

On Tuesday the 12th May there will be an opening for the Hamilton East School Art exhibition - Standing Tall.
This will start at 1.45pm with a Powhiri by the HES Kapa Haka.

All family and friends are welcome to attend this.  If you can't come to the opening then you can come along after school on Tuesday or all day on Wednesday.

Room 9 has been busy making some pretty special art for this occasion - come along and check it out.

Harvest Festival

We planned, prepared, cooked and enjoyed on this fabulous day at school!!

Room 9 made crispy potato chips with yummy kiwi dip.

Most of the food prepared and eaten was taken from the school garden.

All of the food was prepared by the kids in the school.

It was fun to try new things and enjoy the yummy food.

The Cenotaph at Memorial Park

We found out that a Cenotaph is an 'empty tomb' or a monument erected in honour of a person or group of people whose remains are elsewhere.

This is the Cenotaph at Memorial Park just down the road after our school placed some wreaths on it for our peace walk.
